Simon Thomas M16 105.04 Simon Beven M40 missed #15 Many thanks to Margaret and Mike for helping to collect controls (and for the other offers to do so) - much appreciated. Some nice weather makes all the difference! And many of you seemed to enjoy the slightly different format of lots of short legs. The growth in the bracken in the last week or two did lessen the technical challenge, making some control sites a bit more difficult to locate. The only real down side I felt from the event was the comments from some competitors who were frustrated by a number of control flags being found lying down. Thankfully, some competitors put them back up, so only a few were affected. I certainly placed the flags firmly in the ground. So this suggests some very bad puching technique or carelesness from some competitors (or worse!) and makes the competition unfair. If you dislodge a flag/cane when you punch at it please replace it firmly. This happened on the Green course and when I collected the controls they seemed to be all back up again.
